Pakistan lost one player even before the flight for world cup 2015. Junaid Khan was declared fit few days ago but now he is dropped from series against New Zealand and his participation in the mega event has also reduced.
According to details, national team has to face another setback after the declaration of illegal action for Saeed Ajmal and M Hafeez and it is decided to stop Juniad in Pakistan just hours before the departure to New Zealand. Bilawal Bhatti has been given chance in place of Junaid to show his capabilities in the 2 one day matches against New Zealand. So far, PCB has retained the left arm facer for world cup squad. The final decision will be taken after looking at the fitness of Junaid Khan and performance of Bilawal Bhatti in New Zealand.
It should be remembered that Junaid Khan returned to Pakistan even before ODI matches against Australia in UAE. He could not play the series against New Zealand also. Last time he bowled against Sri Lanka in September 2014. He participated in the training camp with world cup team squad after regaining fitness but suffered hamstring injury due to wet outfield. After MIR scan, PCB doctor Sohail Saleem reported that there is nothing serious and he will visit New Zealand with the team.
But it was reported on Tuesday that Bilawal Bhatti will play the series against New Zealand instead of injured Junaid Khan. So far, Bilawal Bhatti could only take 5 wickets in 8 one day matches with the average of 59. In world T20, he gave 30 runs in an over against Australia.
