The new record of individual highest score in one day international has been set by Indian batsman Rohit Sharma.
Rohit Sharma made a new record in Eden Gardens Kolkata against Sri Lanka by scoring 264 runs in 173 balls with 9 sixes and 33 fours while the previous record was 219 runs by Indian batsman Virender Sehwag against West Indies. 33 fours by Sharma is also a new record for most fours and the previous one of 25 fours was also from Sehwag. It is also the 2nd double century by Sharma. India scored total 404 runs in this innings against Sri Lanka.
Saeed Anwar of Pakistan made 194 runs in an ODI against India few years ago which remained highest-score for a long time before it was broken by Sachin Tendulkar with a double century and Sachin’s record was broken by Virender
Sehwag with 219 runs.
