According to Pakistani chief selector Inzamam ul Haq, Umar AKmal’s brilliant performance in the recent National T20 cup was the reason behind picking him for the T20 squad against West Indies. He told that PCB gave him approval to consider Umar Akmal for performance without looking at disciplinary measures. Umar Akmal is himself quite eager to play in all formats for Pakistan.
Inzamam said that Ahmad Shahzad and Shahid Afridi were not included in the team due to their form and fitness while they can make their place again in the side after showing their fitness and form.
Right ahnd batsman Sad Nasim and laft arm pacer Rumman Raees are also part of 15 member team that will play against West Indies from 23rd September 2016. Inzamam consulted Pakistani coach Mickey Arthur and captain Sarfraz before finalizing this team for T20I.
