The status of ‘super series’ has been given to the series between Pakistan and England while the special prize of 25,000 pounds will be given to the overall winner of this series on the basis of points.

According to reports, the home series of England against Pakistan and Sri Lanka have been given the status of ‘super series’. After this status, there will be points for every match while the team will be declared as collective winner if it gets more points at the end of the tour. In order to create enthusiasm in ‘super series’, the prize of 25,000 pounds has been announced for the collective winner of the series.

According to details of points system, winner team of test match will get 4 points while draw match will give 2 points each to both the teams. The winner in shorter formats will get 2 points and 1 point each will be given in case of draw or tie match. Andrew Straus, current English Board director and former captain, said that the game of cricket is changing rapidly and it is their duty to take measures in the growth of cricket.

Increasing the importance of every cricket match is the purpose of the idea of ‘super series’ and it will join all the formats of international cricket. They are hopeful that interest of players and fans will increase with this new format.

Series has also been declared as ‘super series’ and it has started on Thursday from a test match.
