According to the announcement by Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board, Misbah-ul-Haq will captain the national team in ODI World Cup 2015 while Shahid Afridi will be the T20 captain till 2016. Shahid Afridi has also captained Pakistan national team in ODI, test and T20 formats before. The team performed very poorly during his T20 captaincy. The team lost 11 and won 8 matches out of total 11 T20 matches in which Afridi was captain.
